Wigan County Borough Year Books, covering the years The Year Books give detailed information concerning businesses, organisations and places of worship in the Wigan County Borough and were published on a yearly basis by the Wigan Observer. The volumes were digitised by Wigan Local Studies Volunteer, Susan Dodgson.

Ward boundaries were altered, and the county borough was divided into ten wards, each electing one alderman and three councillors. The former area of Pemberton Urban District was annexed to the County Borough of Wigan inadding four extra wards to the olitan borough: Wigan.
